When choosing a field experience program, it is important to know what to look for. Below are a few examples to help you determine if a program is right for you:
- The program provides a meaningful and challenging learning experience that allows individuals to apply the knowledge gained from the program to the academic coursework.
- The program’s goals are established with the intern and periodically revisited throughout the program so that progress is monitored.
- The program’s roles and responsibilities are documented in a written position description that describes real work assignments that are recognized as valuable by the organization.
