ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Northwood University’s Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Health Care Management offers students many choices of courses to be successful in health care. Of the 120 credits required for graduation, ~25% are healthcare courses that begin first semester along with ~25% general education, ~25% common professional core and ~25% choice, which could include a dual major. Healthcare requires a balance of understanding business acumen, healthcare quality, strategy, patient safety and marketing. HIPAA/Privacy/IT Security; Recruitment/Retention; Value Based reimbursement; Patient Safety and Quality are just some topics covered. The Northwood University Student Healthcare Management Organization (NUSMHO) provides a wellness fair and many other extracurricular activities to help keep the campus community healthy. Students are challenged to become change agents, leaders and risk takers who develop leadership and organizational behavior skills throughout all levels of the program. The student’s personal development plan is a living, active tool that is engaged frequently to ensure daily activities utilize tools and resources to meet the student’s career goals. Contact Dr. Bacon for more information or a campus visit.
